newbie - folder move to other folder based on folder naming

Good day guys and gals!

I’m frequent reader of your forum but first time poster

I got a problem in creating a script where in a folder on my desktop will be move to another folder on my server.

for example:
I have ADB123-4_working in my desktop (where ADB is my code;123 is my article number; 4 is my issue number; and “_working” is my sign of working folder)

I also have a folder (ADB_123-4) on my Cover’s server (located at this path //Covers/ES/amsterdam/ADB/ADB123-4) note no “_working”

My question is; would it be possible to have a script to move my working folder ADB123-4_working in my desktop to ADB123-4 folder on the server by a script/or an action folder that will read the folder name in my desktop (when run or drop to folder) to be automatically move to cover’s server?

Thanks in advance guys!

please let me know if you need nore info :frowning: thanks in advance guys!

I’ve read the post several times and don’t understand what it is you’re trying to do.

This needs to be refined. It looks like you want to move
folder “ADB123-4_working”
to
folder “ADB123-4” on the server
but

I don’t get. It sounds like you want to drop the folder and have it move to the server.

thanks sitcom for your reply. I guess i’m not good in explaining things. yes you are correct I need a script to move the folder file (in my desktop) named ADB124-4_working to my server ADB123-4 (path is: //Covers/ES/amsterdam/ADB/ADB123-4). please take note that ADB is a journal code so it can be SIT123-4 and the path on the server is //covers/ES/amsterdam/SIT/SIT123-4.

thanks in advance
