Hi, I’m totally new to programing anything since a hypercard stack in 1994. I want to organize the computers at my office by basically creating a project oriented folder system. I would like the user to open the script and be prompted to name the project. Once this happened, applescript would save that name as a variable and create a folder name with the name variable in the projects folder, a final cut project file with the name variable in another folder, a DVD Studio Pro project in the DVD project folder and so on. I just don’t know how to save the variable. Also, would it be possible to prompt the user to choose an external scratch disk for media and then set the FCP pro file to choose that scratch disk. Basically, our problem here is that files get thrown all over a variety of drives and we end up totally disorganized, with multiple copies of files and not know which is the latest and which we can throw out. Anyway, I would try and figure this out myself, but I haven’t found any tutorials on how to use applescript.
Thanks for any help,
