Opening App on a different machine

I read in another post that for opening an app on a different machine you need to make sure that the ‘Project-Active Build Configuration’ is set to ‘Release’ and not ‘Debug’. After changing my project to ‘Release’ I am still unable to get the app running on another mac using the exact same operating system (10.4.3). Is there another step involved? I’m using the file from the ‘Release’ folder found inside the ‘Build’ folder.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is briefly covered in our FAQ.

Have you tried Cleaning your project before building it?

Ok, we’re back. Thank you very much for the input. After ’ Cleaning All Targets’ and making sure the active build configuration was set to ‘Release’ everything worked fine. I tested it on a third computer, and although it didn’t work, I noticed that I was still running OS 10.3. and so am now in the process of upgrading it to Tiger and expect everything to go well.

I have only recently upgraded my main computer to 10.4 and with the new Xcode 2.2, I wasn’t having any problems with my old programs. It was only yesterday when I made a new one from scratch that I noticed it wasn’t transferring over to the other computers. (Upgrading has its moments.) I don’t think I ever really noticed the build configuration settings before as I guess it was set as transferrable as default, so this was a good learning experience for me. Thank you again for your time.

P.S. I apologize to everyone for not checking the FAQ page before making this post.
