Dear Friends,
Just a note for others who may be having similar minor problems. I have OS 10.3.7, ScriptEditor 2.0. My main script requires that I recompile, save and quit ScriptEditor before it will recognise changes to subroutines, or newly added calls to a “library” script.
I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the case when I first began building this main script about two weeks ago. Perhaps I’ve reached some limit on the number of calls a script will easily make in one go? I doubt it, there are only a half dozen so far.
Anyhow, it was making me hair-pulling crazy to see the main script remain “broken” until I quit in frustration, came back later for another go, and found it “fixed.” From then on, it’s been a toss-up whether the main script will accept newly added calls, or fixes to the library, without having to be quit. Or at least, without closing both library and main script. Sometimes that works, sometimes I have to both close and Quit.
A word to the potentially frustrated. Thanks for listening.
