Pages (iWork 09) is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

Ok I;m fairly good with applescript now, but obviously not good enough as pages continues to baffle me.

I have a document with text inside of tables. This text is set as merged text fields - but that does not seem to possible. So I just want to insert a variabled text string into these cells.

And I can’t figure out how to select the text. Body Text does not capture it. Tried background layer and foreground layer but could not get “text” or “words” or anything other than {} to return. Tried get cell/row/column of table 1 of document 1 - no go. Tried the same with page 1 added. Nope!

What am I missing?

As far as I know, you missed nothing.

There is no official AppleScript support for tables.
The objects Cells, Rows, Columns are not defined in the dictionary.

You, oh master of iWorks, have confirmed what I feared…

(1) As my rule is “Ni Dieu ni maître”, I am the master of nothing !

(2) Nobody can be the master of iWorks as there is no such item.
I just know a lot of things upon an other product named iWork.

It’s really simple to spell correctly.

An Apple employee gave me the rule :

In old times we were allowed to say Apple Works
Now we must say I work.
