Passing variables to a new applescript studio app.

Hello,

I have a question about passing variables to a new applescript studio app. This is the problem. I want to use information from another app and use that to produce something with this app. Is there a way to pass arguments and use them in the new app. I am somewhat familiar with cocoa and applescript, but I have not used applescript studio that much. Could someone please clue me in to a solution to this problem?

Is the other app scriptable? Can/does it generate some type of file which contains the info that you need to use in your app?
