Permissions change on download?

Hi,

Do permissions change when you download a file?

Edited: I’m thinking that sometimes they don’t and sometimes they do change.

Edited: figured out what I was thinking. If you set the executable bit, then does it remain set if downloaded to some other computer?

To whom it may concern,

Nevermind. I sent myself an executable AppleScript shell script and it didn’t work on download (the attachment).
