AppleScript works with an application like QuarkXpress by referring to application’s AppleScript dictionary, so the only forum members who can help you are those who own and use QuarkXpress and so have access to it’s classes and command structure. That may not include too many regular participants here. Certainly not me; but I was explaining the lack of an answer.
No need for Applescript
When you are creating a new document / project, just make sure “Automatic Text Box” is checked. It’s usually somewhere near “Facing Pages”
