Hello!
I’m trying to find a way to do this:
I have a .eps file.
I want to be able to drop it in a folder on a network or my computer and have it automatically print.
Is this possible? I’m running OSX 10.39
thanks

Can your printer print an encapsulated postscript file directly? If so, you can go to the printer setup utility select the printer if you have more than one, and under the “Printers” menu choose “Create Desktop Printer…” which will put the printer icon on your desktop. Dropping any printable file on that icon will print it and you don’t need a script to do it.
If your printer will not print an eps file, then you have to convert it to a pdf, which isn’t hard. Is it necessary?
Thank you for your reply!
I have a working version of what you described already in place. However, my problem is that I have a series of folders on a desktop and when I’m finished with a file I want to be able to drop into any of the 10 folders and have it automatically print. Will it have to be converted to a PDF first in order to accomplish this? or is there a folder action?

I can only answer by asking you to experiment: will the printer you intend to use print a .eps file as is? I don’t have a postscript file to try on mine.
Yes it will
