Possible to block pop ups in IE w/ AppleScript?

I read somewhere online that it was possible to make a very simple script that would automatically close any pop up window in IE. Is this true? I use a pop up blocker for IE but if I could have a script do it i rather use that.

It is for OS 9, but I think that IE’s OSX syntax is exactly the same, so you can adaptate it easily.
