Retreiving data from NSTable View

Hello everybody,

How do i retreive data from the Tableview ? I trying to get the data that is clicked by the user. I saw those examples that came with applescript, Still no luck

I am using Datasource.

Try this code (update your object names accordingly):

on [color=green]get_data/color
try
tell window “main”
set the_data to (contents of data cell 1 of data row (selected row of table view “data” of scroll view “data”) of data source of table view “data” of scroll view “data”) as string
end tell
on error
set the_data to “”
end try
return the_data
end get_data

Can you post how to get the data from the data source instead of the table view, if this is possible.

I have very little experience with AppleScript Studio, any help is welcome.

Is this what you’re looking for?

–Open this script in a new Script Editor window.

set the_table to table view 1 of scroll view 1 of window “main”
set the_data_source to data source of the_table
tell the_data_source to set the_data to contents of data cells of data rows
return the_data
