Hello, I have a script a wrote and saved as an application as run only. Obviously I can’t find my original and editable version of that script. Is there still a way to open in Applescript editor my run only file?
No.
Let’s hope someone has a trick up his sleeve to contradict my vehement assertion!
Alas when a script is saved as Run Only we can’t decompile it.
Open it in Textedit to see the names of variables which are used.
Maybe this will help you to rebuild the code.
Next time, immediately after typing two or three instructions, save the script “as a script”.
This way, Autosave will continue to save it in this format.
And of course, keep a backup in a fair format.
