For those who haven’t seen, Mark and Shane have just announced the official release of Script Debugger 8.0, their fully-featured alternative to Apple’s Script Editor.
Version 8.0 requires macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later and costs $99.99 USD to buy, with cheaper upgrade paths from SDs 6 and 7. However, it can still be used for free in “Lite” mode after its initial evaluation period expires, with many features still enabled which aren’t available in Script Editor. It’s said to run natively on M1 Macs
If you need to develop more than the simplest of scripts, or are into AppleScriptObjC, or simply if you’re want to try something different from Script Editor, it’s definitely worth checking out.
