script launch from browser

: Is it possible to have a script that can be launched with a link on a : website? I have an internal website that I’d like to run a script
: from. The site is on a Mac (if that helps) using the Web Sharing
: feature in Mac OS 9.x.

I’m not sure if this will help or not but here it is for your consideration. This isn’t very technical because I stumbled
onto it one day. :stuck_out_tongue:

Using Internet Explorer 5 (and possibly other versions and browsers), one can add a script (application) to the favorites and even the toolbar by dragging the script’s icon, or an alias of it, to the desired location in the favorites window or toolbar. Then, when the resulting icon (favorite) is chosen, the script runs as if it was launched via normal methods, such as double clicking its icon in the Finder. I use this to run a particular IE script, but it should work just as well on other scripts.

I don’t use web sharing so I don’t know if this will work under your conditions.

I’ve also included a link (below) to a script by Peter Bunn which might be more useful than what I’ve offered.
