I’ve spent forever trying to get my scripting additions to work for applescript editor (except StandardAdditions, which just recently I found out has a show package content option unlike my other additions). I have a Scripting Additions folder in my user library and my system library with scripting additions but they don’t seem to work. The folder didn’t come with my computer though I put it in manually. I’ve named it ScriptingAdditions the first time and just recently Scripting Additions. I’ve changed the endings of the script additions to .osax to see if it would work but it didn’t.
If this information would help I have a Mac OS 10.3.5 PowerBook G3, with more than 20 GB of disk space, and has a processor speed of 400 Mhz. I thank anyone that will help me. Your guidance is gladly appreciated.
The folder must be called “ScriptingAdditions” and be located usually in your user-library folder (you can create it manually if it doesn’t exist).
But this is not your problem
Seems that you’re attempting to use “old” osaxen… Hmmm… Perhaps Tanaka’s osax, Akua Sweets or Sändi’s Additions? None of these are OSX-compatible.
You can find here a (incomplete but near to complete) list of OSX-compatible scripting additions:
