Hi all,
I am running into a bit of a problem. We have a non-standard Classic program that runs under OS 9 and Classic. The problem is that it doesn’t have a standard printing dialog box. This is compounded by the fact that chooser doesn’t have a separate driver for Adobe PDF (like in version 4.0.)
The problem is that the only way that we can get to the PDF print driver right now, is to open simpletext, type a couple of things, go to print, and change output to “Create Adobe PDF” and then hit ok. This switches the printer and then when we go back into the other program it is already changed to the PDF so that we don’t have to worry about it.
Now here are the questions. How can one change a selected printer in classic via applescript? Can you do this? Is it impossible. I have searched through the documentation and haven’t found anything that points me in the right direction.
I would like to be able to write a script that does this because the people who are using the program are pretty non-technical, so I want to make it easy for them.
Thanks for the help
