setting cursor position

Hi

After my script has processed the information in a text field called “STDFILE”
I have it return to the below state, the text ".pdf " is highlighted in blue which
I dont want, what id like to happen is have the cursor blinking on the left hand
side of the “.” how would I go about this please

set contents of text field “STDFILE” of window “main” to “.pdf”
