simulate held-down key?

hey there,
Is there a way to get applescript to emulate/simulate a key being pressed and held down? All I can think of, is for it to just press the key a whole bunch of times, and that’s not working for my purposes.

I currently use jons g keys to work with the application I’m linking into, but I still cannot see a way to do this.

Hi,

AFAIK it’s only possible to hold down the modifier keys

Are there any programs or scripts to get around this limitation? I need to hold down the [ and ] keys persistently.
