Slow Performance on applications rebuilding OSX 10.5.7 & Xcode 3.1.3

Hello all,

I recently upgraded to OSX 10.5.7 & Xcode 3.1.3 & Adobe CS4.

Before the upgrade I had developed Applescript based applications using Xcode for Quark, InDesign, Distiller, Safari etc.
Because of the upgrades I had to make minor tweaks to my code.

After rebuilding the applications the performance in those application is very slow. Slow to launch, slow when clicking on buttons, slow when script is processing (beach balling).

If I copy the scripts into Script Editor and run from there they run fast.

Anyone else having this issue?

Any information would be greatly appreciated,
CarbonQuark

I haven’t seen this issue. One thought, on intel macs applications need to be “universal binary”. If not then the code is run using emulation and may be the cause for your slowness. I’m wondering if because they are older projects they are ppc code only and thus are run in emulation. I’m not sure how to check for that but you may want to look into it more.

regulus6633,

Thanks for the tip I will check to see if it’s universal binary.

Thanks,
