Small droplet file association issue

Hi; this is more of a plist issue I think actually.

I’ve got my applescript app working fine. It just unrars rars, and rars folders. but adds a nice fancy message for me…it’s just for me, I kinda like it that way. But, wanted to have a custom icon for the rars then, and have my app as the default unarchiver. So I got that working with my plist, but now a new file arises. I can now only drag rar files in.

Is there anyway to associate it with the rars, yet have it so I can drag other files on to it? I’m thinking a wildcard somewhere that I’m missing in my plist:

To be clear; all rar files are associated with my app, which is exactly what I want. I just want to be able to drag every other file onto my app as well.

If someone could point me in the right direction thanks…

Hmm…I can put other files in if I hold alt+apple down whilst doing it, but is there any other way?

This is only a guess… and is based on my interpretation of your question, which really isn’t all that clear.

Judging by TextEdit’s .plist, you need to add a complete for each file extension (CFBundleTypeExtensions) you want handled.

Have a look at TextEdit’s .plist or any other app that handles multiple file extensions.

I’m having a very similar problem in my vain attempts to apply a custom icon for .rar files. I’m using the app Rar Expander. It seems that this program uses the default app icon as the .rar file type icon. Here’s the info.plist file:

It should be noted that there’s another .plist file in the Resources folder. After placing my custom icon in this folder, I’ve tried modifying both of them to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Took some fiddling, but I figured it out. Just copied and pasted the rar string from the unarchiver .plist file.
