Still printing and preview ...

Maybe I didn’t express me correctly …
I’m completly new in AS.
I’m writing a FileMaker program. My problem is the following:

I want to print a report but first it should be seen on preview. FileMaker does not support a function to start preview automaticaly. I think I could use the standart print function with the print dialog.

My question is now, is it possible to write an AS that presses the switch “preview” in the apearing print dialog?

Thanks a lot to who ever will answer

Chris

I don’t know filemaker, so I doon’t know if it can be scripted as you want… but you can always use “gui scripting”. Do a search for posts on that topic to learn how. There’s lots of advice in the threads already.

Assuming the report is a pdf, can’t you just save it to your desktop and then tell preview to open it?

Hi Adam
This is the solution for easy scripting! Sometimes the easiest way is fount on the hardest …

Many thanks for your help.

Chris

FYI there is an FMP script step “enter prevew mode” this is used to preview how it will print
