I got a message from the forum that I had posted too much in the following thread. Would it be best if the OP and I stopped posting in this thread and communicated instead by email. Thanks!

That does not seem useful and it does not seem like the number of posts in that thread is excessive. I wonder if that setting can be adjusted?
Hi peavine.
There are quite a few posts in that topic, but there are several topics here with more. It does have a fair number of uploaded images. I wonder if they could be the problem. It doesn’t seem to have prevented dbrewood from posting again since your complaint. Have you been prevented from posting there, or have you just received a finger wag?
Nigel. My post was a bit misleading.
The message I got (which was in the form of a finger wag) stated that I had posted too much in the thread and that might prevent other forum members from participating. Put another way, I was hogging the conversation. I try to be sensitive to the fact that there’s little interest in shortcuts, and that’s why I inquired if email might better be used. Thanks!
My opinion is keep it on the thread. I have no intention of using any of the code being tossed around on that thread, but that’s just today me talking. Tomorrow me may desperately want to know how this all ended up!
Hi peavine.
I agree with Paul. There’s no reason you shouldn’t post as often as is necessary to progress the conversation, as long as that’s what’s happening. You and dbrewood have posted a similar number of times in that topic and the instances of the same person posting more than once in succession are few. I can’t see why the forum’s software should have picked on you in particular. I’ll bring it to Mark’s attention.
Hi @estockly peavine (and anyone else who reads this).
If it happens again, could you take a screenshot of the message and upload it here? Cheers.
@peavine As others have suggested, please take a screenshot of the error the next time you see it.
It looks like you and Ed exchanged about 6 messages in one day which does not seem excessive, but this probably tripped some sort of rate limiter in the Discourse system. No admin warnings appeared for me when this happened to you so I have no insights into the limit(s) you may have exceeded. I’ve poked around to see if I can spot a setting that controls this without success. Let me know when/if this happens again and I’ll look further.
@alldritt. Thanks! I’ll post back a screenshot if I get that message again. I wish I had taken a screenshot when the message appeared, but that just didn’t occur to me.
