write/read folder path to text file

Hi all. I do hope someone can help me with this. I’m making a little app which first prompts the user to select a folder, and then writes the path to a text file for use later. This bit’s easy. However, I then need to recover the folder path. The problem is separating the folder path from all the other stuff that gets written to the text file.

Example:

Folder path should be Kevin:Users:kevin:Documents

What gets written to the text file is:

aaaaaaaarrrgh!: I can’t paste the text! There are some characters here which I can’t type at the moment, and I can’t pates the text!

Nevermind.

Doh! Sorry about that. I was writing to the file as “alias” rather than as text. Hence the additional gobbledygook!
