write to file after last tab

Hi all,

I need to write some data to the end of file

	write myLine to ff starting at eof

but:
if file contents ends with Tab the appending must go after Tab, not EOF

starting at tab

isn’t a solution cos there are many Tabs in file

What shell I do?

Hi,

this syntax of course doesn’t exist, the argument of starting at must be an integer to specify the position,
where the new text will be appended.
It’s up to you, the scripter, to take care about the right position.
